The Butchers Club Burger Listed in the 2016 Michelin Guide!

The Butchers Club Burger has been listed in the latest edition of the Michelin Guide, adding to an already fairly significant list of accolades for the brand.

The Michelin Guide introduced a new ‘street food’ category for Hong Kong in 2016’s edition, in order to showcase some of the city’s most distinguished local delicacies that don’t carry a high price tag. Alongside a list of local Cantonese street stalls, The Butchers Club’s ever-popular burger restaurant in Wan Chai was also featured. International director of Michelin Guide, Michael Ellis, mentioned that he thought The Butchers Club’s burgers were “some of the best” he's had.

Executive Chef Aarik Persaud is overwhelmed about achieving such an accolade, stating: “we are very honoured to have our name up there with so many great Hong Kong restaurants. I am so happy that the guide has extended itself to pay respect not only to the super luxury fine dining establishments, but also to your everyday eateries that normal people patronise. It’s definitely a step in the right direction.”

Jonathan Glover, Founder and Managing Director of The Butchers Club, goes on to say that “there have already been many doubters coming out of the woodwork suggesting that The Butchers Club Burger should not be listed in the 2016 Michelin Guide. However, if the award has been given based on a product-driven restaurant, then we fully deserve this accolade. We truly do put our heart and soul into producing the very best burger around. We recently wrote an article about our Hogtown burger, and I think this article depicts this perfectly. I am very proud of our team here at The Butchers Club and think that every one of them is deserving of this accolade.”

The Butchers Club Burger is continuing to expand and will be opening in Tsim Sha Tsui’s K-11 Art Mall later this month.
